“Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”
Hebrews 11:1
Biography
I was born in Sumter, SC, and raised in a Christian home. I became a Christian when I was seven years old. As a teen, I felt God leading me to pursue a Christian vocation which I have fulfilled as a pastor's wife and as an educator.
After graduating from Clarendon Hall, I attended Baptist College at Charleston (now Charleston Southern University) where I received a BA in English with a Minor in Secondary Education. I also attended Southwestern Theological Seminary taking several courses in Religious Education. I have been teaching for twenty-two years, covering several grades from K3 to 12.
I have been married to my husband Rob for twenty-five years. We have two daughters: Anna, who will be a senior at Charleston Southern University this fall, and Ashelynn, who will be a freshman at CSU. Rob is pastor at Latta Baptist Church, and we both are enjoying our ministries there.
Classroom Rules
We will discuss classroom rules on Monday. I like to get student input on guidelines for behavior in the classroom. I can tell you, however, that the rules already set forth in the handbook will be followed. Whatever other conduct codes of conduct the students create will follow these principles: (1) Do the right thing, and (2) Respect others.
