
Head of School -Brian Fitzgerald
QUICK FACTS ABOUT THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
Brian Fitzgerald has joined Dillon Christian School as the new Head of School with almost a decade of service in independent school administration. Mr. Fitzgerald is a native of Concord, Virginia, which sits squarely between the city of Lynchburg and the town of Appomattox, which is most famous for being where the American Civil War ended. His formal degrees include a B.A. in English from the College of William and Mary and a M.Ed. in Educational Administration from American InterContinental University, with various other credit hours being attained in the pursuit of education. He also has successfully completed numerous seminars and conferences in the areas of diverse learning styles, advanced curriculum, and financial management to list a few.
Mr. Fitzgerald brings a unique knowledge of the workings of a Christian school as he is a graduate of Timberlake Christian Schools in Lynchburg, VA, and then began his teaching career at Williamsburg Christian Academy in Williamsburg, VA. He has served in numerous administrative capacities at his former schools, including English Department Chairman, Dean of Students, and Assistant Head of School. Additionally, he has spent time in a different educational field as he was a Center Director for the Sylvan Learning Centers in the Richmond, VA area, an experience that had a profound impact on his approach to independent education. Mr. Fitzgerald also brings an eclectic love of the arts and athletics to DCS as he has not only been a varsity soccer, basketball, and baseball head coach, but he has also been the director of four high school drama productions.
