DCS is accredited by the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA). Dillon Christian School offers a private, Christian school alternative from Pre-K to 12th grade. DCS also offers numerous programs, activities, and sports with a Christian focus. NEW STUFF!!!!

Dillon Preschool BBQ- Thursday, Febraury 11- Plates will be available between 11am-2pm, as well as between 4pm- 7pm. This annual event is organized and prepared by Mr. Henry Brunson and the Cooks for Christ Organization. Tickets are $6 for a hearty plate full of the best chicken bog, green beans, bread, and homemade dessert! Tickets may be purchased in advance at Dillon Christian Preschool, located at 1413 Commerce Drive (beside the Dillon Christian School), and walk-ins will be welcome on the day of the event. As always, lunch and dinner deliveries are available with a minimum plate order of eight. Any business interested in having plates delivered, please call 774-0890 or email Marie Wolfe @ dcpcmarie@aol.com.
This fundraiser provides a percentage of the operating costs of this ministry that loves, cares for, and educates many children in our community…bringing them up with a joyful foundation in Christ.

Reminder:Parent Sound Off!
Please accept my invitation to attend an open forum for parents/guardians to share concerns, compliments, and considerations to make DCS the best it can be. I will meet with parents of students enrolled in the following grade levels on the dates listed below. All meetings, which are for parents/ guardians only, will take place at 7:00 P.M. in Warrior Hall unless otherwise stated.

Tuesday, February 2 Grades 6-8

Thursday, February 4 Grades 3-5

Tuesday, February 9 Grades 9-12

The Annual DCS Praise Him Concert: Practice is now underway for our annual “Praise Him Concert.” If you are interested in supporting or serving at the concert in any way, please contact Alex Mark at amark@warriorweb.us to find out how to help.
Water for Haiti: We are participating with area schools to collect water for Haiti. Please bring sealed water bottles to Warrior Hall and put them in the appropriate boxes.

PTF Meeting: our next Parent-Teacher Fellowship will be held on Tuesday, February 9 at 6PM in
Warrior Hall. This is a vital ministry in the life of our school, so please plan to attend!

Thanks to our Parent-Teacher Fellowship, we were blessed to receive a new technology program called RenWeb last year. RenWeb is the school’s administrative software and has provided many opportunities for faculty and staff members to communicate with parents. We are now ready to move to the next level of communication and give you, our parents, access to your students’ grades online starting this Tuesday, January 12. To access your child’s grades, you will need a Renweb username and password, which are issued by Mr. Mark. This is the same username you may have been using to order lunches. If you do not have one, you may contact Mr. Mark at dcsamark@gmail.com or amark@warriorweb.us.

The Chapel Challenge: An anonymous foundation has offered a challenge grant for the Bull Lee Memorial Chapel. For every dollar we raise between December 3, 2009 and January 31, 2010 – this organization will match dollar for dollar up to $15,000.00. The contractors have set our fund raising goal at $40,000.00 dollars. We have received 5000.00 to date. If we meet this challenge we will have $35,000.00. What a blessing the Lord has granted us through this gift! You may send donations to:

SCRIPS NEWS: We have recently added both Varsity Burger and Kings Restaurants to our SCRIPS
program! Cards are available in the office in case you are interested!

BUILDING AND GROUNDS: If you have any skills, equipment, machinery, or time to offer DCS as we labor to keep our facilities in top shape, please email amark@warriorweb.us. There is always work to do, and the upkeep is a never-ending job. We look forward to hearing from you!

In the Spotlight: Student Service DCS Senior Marian Carr has implemented a paper recycling
program for our school. Boxes have been placed in each classroom for students and
teachers to deposit their paper waste. Students take the classroom box to a centrally located
container. The Dillon County Recycling center picks up our paper on Thursdays and weighs it for us!
Marian collects the information every week and equates the weight to the number of trees we are
conserving. Watch our progress on the bulletin board in the elementary building. Thanks, Marian, for
helping make our school a better place!

Spirit Wear: We are excited to announce that DCS fleeces have been reduced now
to $25. Get them while they last!

ACADEMIC NEWS: Spanish III students have been given a very unique learning opportunity this year. Students will be using Rosetta Stone Language Learning Software. Rosetta Stone is commonly accepted as the world’s best language learning software. The curriculum for the course will include completing the program’s Spanish levels 1-5. If you are interested in knowing more about Rosetta Stone software for learning any language, please email amark@warriorweb.us.
