DCS is accredited by the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA). Dillon Christian School offers a private, Christian school alternative from Pre-K to 12th grade. DCS also offers numerous programs, activities, and sports with a Christian focus. With an enrollment over 360, DCS stands ready to meet the needs of children located in northeastern South Carolina and southeastern North Carolina.

McLeod Summer Teenage Volunteer Program: Students age 14-18 with at least an overall B average may volunteer at McLeod-Dillon. If you are interested, you may pick up a Teen Volunteer Packet at the hospital Information Desk May 8-May 14, 2009. The completed application must be returned by Wednesday, May 20, 2009.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation :
Once again, it is time to start purchasing your paper sneakers to help find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. The 4-H Club will be selling these sneakers for $1.00 each. The classes with the most sneakers (K5-6, 7-12) will be given their choice of an ice cream or pizza party. Sneaker sales will end on Friday, May 15.
**Athletic Physicals for next year will be given on May 12 and 13, from 1 until 2 o'clock here at Dillon Christian School.
SUMMER TUTORING: If your child needs extra help or you want them to keep up with their studies over the summer, Miss Peeler will be offering tutoring for K5 through fourth grade students. Please contact her at the school or through her e-mail ( hpeeler@warriorweb.us ) to schedule a time.
Caps for Cure : Wear your favorite cap to school all day on Friday, May 22, for only $1.00! The 4-H Club will be sponsoring “Caps for a Cure” to help find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. Your $1.00 allows you the privilege of wearing your cap inside the building for the day. Money must be turned in no later than Wednesday, May 20.
SENIORS: It’s time to file the FAFSA. (Free Application for Federal Student Aid.) It is the application the federal government uses to determine eligibility for federal assistance (grants, scholarships, work study, and loans.) Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete the form. You may request a paper version by calling 1-800-433-3243. See Mrs. Bethea if you have any questions.
Beginning this week the 11th grade class is asking the entire school to participate in the “Caps for Chemo” drive. We will be collecting plastic bottle caps that will go towards helping a 5 year old little girl who is going through chemotherapy. If we bring in 400 caps she will receive a free chemo treatment. Please make an effort to turn in your cap when you finish a drink. You can turn them in to any teacher and you can even bring them from home. We appreciate your help in this important effort to help this little child.
JUNIORS: You have the opportunity to win a trip to Washington, D.C. If you are chosen as a Washington Y outh Tour delegate to represent Marlboro Electric Cooperative, you will travel to Washington, D.C. this summer with approximately 40 high school juniors from other S.C. electric cooperatives.
